Colorful Events Mark National Livestock Week 2025 in Chitalmari

National Livestock Week 2025 was celebrated in Chitalmari with vibrant activities and community participation. The program, held on Wednesday morning at the Upazila Livestock Office courtyard, included a rally, discussion meeting and a free veterinary service camp.

The colorful rally began at 10 a.m. under the leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Sajjad Hossain. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mithun Moitra later inaugurated the discussion session.

The meeting was chaired by Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Ahmed Iqbal. Among the special guests were Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Sifat Al Maruf, Palli Bidyut DGM Wadud Khandaker, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Mawlana Moniruzzaman and Islami Andolon Upazila President Dr. Abul Kalam Kazi. The program was moderated by Upazila Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Anup Kumar Adhikari.

During the discussion, speakers emphasized that the livestock sector is an essential pillar of rural economic development. They noted that government initiatives—such as training programs, vaccination campaigns and improved veterinary support—are helping farmers expand their livestock production sustainably.

Local representatives, farmers and members of various organizations attended the event. After the meeting, the guests inspected several stalls showcasing livestock and interacted with farm owners.
